Brendan Howe (B.A./M.A. Oxon, M.A. UKC, Ph.D. TCD), has served as Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, and, since 2001, as a professor of international relations, at the Graduate School of International Studies, Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. He has been awarded the Humboldt Research Fellowship from August 2025-August 2026 at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He currently also serves as the President of the Asian Political and International Studies Association, and on the board of the Asia and Pacific Research Group at the International Political Science Association. He has published extensively in the fields of peacebuilding, governance, human security, middle powers, international cooperation, Northeast and Southeast Asian security, foreign policy decision-making, post-conflict development, and humanitarian intervention. Monographs and edited volumes include, Comprehensive Peacebuilding on the Korean Peninsula (with K. Ayhan eds. 2023), The Niche Diplomacy of Asian Middle Powers (ed. 2021), UN Governance in Cambodia and Timor-Leste (with S. Peou and Y. Uesugi, 2020), Regional Cooperation for Peace and Development (ed. 2018), National Security, State-centricity, and Governance in East Asia (ed. 2017), Peacekeeping and the Asia-Pacific (with B. Kondoch eds. 2016), Democratic Governance in Northeast Asia (ed. 2015), Post-Conflict Development in East Asia (ed. 2014), and The Protection and Promotion of Human Security in East Asia (2013).

Melisa Deciancio

Melisa Deciancio holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (2016) from FLACSO, Argentina; a Master’s degree in International Relations and Negotiations (2010) from FLACSO/Argentina and the University of San Andrés; and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (2006) from the University of Buenos Aires. She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at CONICET. She currently serves as the Academic Coordinator of the Master’s Program in International Relations at FLACSO/Argentina and teaches at FLACSO, UBA, USAL, and UDELAR. Her research focuses on the intellectual history of the discipline of International Relations in Argentina, International Relations theory, multilateralism, and global governance.

Anna Wróbel is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies (Department for Regional and Global Studies), University of Warsaw. Head of First and Second Cycle Degree Programme in International Relations. Ph.D. in Political Science (2007). Her doctoral dissertation is on the policy of liberalization of international trade in services. Postgraduate Studies in Foreign Trade at the Warsaw School of Economics (2004). A graduate of the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw (2003). Research interests: global trade governance; World Trade Organisation; international trade in services; processes of international trade liberalization, in particular liberalization of international trade in services; food security; international trade in agri-food commodities; economic dimension of globalization; regional economic integration; EU trade policy; China’s trade policy. Founder member of the Polish International Studies Association (Polskie Towarzystwo Studiów Międzynarodowych, PTSM). Governing Board Member and Treasurer of the Warsaw unit of the Polish International Studies Association. Member of the International Studies Association (ISA); Central and East European International Studies Association (CEEISA) and European International Studies Association (EISA), Development Studies Association (DSA).

Isaac Flores Delgado

Isaac Flores Delgado has a master's degree in International Relations from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He serves as a full-time research professor in International Relations at Universidad del Mar (UMAR), in Mexico. His research primarily focuses on economic cooperation and integration within the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Global Development Studies at the Autonomous University of Baja California, with a dissertation centered on Mexican Foreign Policy toward the Asia-Pacific region. Additionally, he is the Secretary-General of the Mexican International Studies Association (MISA/AMEI).

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 2(c) of the Constitution of the World International Studies Committee (WISC), Professor Gunther Hellmann has been conferred the title of Honorary Member of the organization. Professor Hellmann, a distinguished scholar of Political Science at Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany, also serves as Principal Investigator at the Frankfurt Center of Excellence “Formation of Normative Orders.” His service to WISC has been notable: joining its leadership in 2011 as Associate Executive Secretary, assuming the role of Executive Secretary in 2014, and fulfilling the duties of President from 2017 to 2021.

This honorary distinction was granted in recognition of Professor Hellmann’s exceptional contributions to WISC. The nomination was advanced by President Pinar Bilgin, formally endorsed by the Governing Board, and subsequently ratified by the General Assembly. The conferment took place in Warsaw on Wednesday, 24 July 2024, during the Seventh Global Conference of WISC (24–26 July 2024), where President Pinar Bilgin officially presented the distinction.
